I recently took my home computer apart (it was old) and brought some of my old hard drives to use at work. (I back up a lot of video and audio here, so the space was necessary.) As I was going through an old 30GB that I used about four years ago, I found an old My Documents folder, inside there was another folder called MISC IDEAS. Most of them were little pieces that I had used in other stories and ideas since, but there are some others that were interesting to me.

“-the function of the junction is real, but it is not what we thought.”
I have no idea what this was about.

Rabbit fish are one of several species of fish known to cause hallucinatory fish poisoning, but the problem is very rare outside the Indo-Pacific.Two men have suffered terrifying visual and auditory hallucinations after eating poisonous fish in Mediterranean restaurants.
This was for a story that somehow tied Salten’s Bambi with The Tell-Tale Heart, pit-fighting and a dead girl named ‘Starshine’…oh, yeah, and it took place in the future, but not a post-apocalyptic wasteland future.

Cody Curtis, a young mobile home maintenance worker, accidentally stumbles upon a sex cult in an abandoned zoo just outside of town. One of the cult members is a girl he loved in high school.
This is still in development, it’s called ‘Youtopia’. The name is too comic bookish, tho’…

A man, Sam, is falsely accused and imprisoned for a crime, but he escapes with three other guys, Robert, Manny and Vic. One of them, Sam’s step-brother, Robert accidentally kills a guard with Vic during the escape. Sam is in love with his second cousin, Virginia, he goes back home to find her.
One of about ten stories I have based on a single song, this one is ‘Prison on Rt. 41’ by Iron & Wine.

– A freeman, Gother Clement, falls in love with Edsel Blackington, the widow of the son of the minister in a small Massachusetts colony called “Sayerstowne” in 1660.

– Godfrey Waight, the governor of another nearby colony, “Lanark-Goodetowne” learns from a friend he’s made with a native called ‘One-Bear’, that another Indian tribe, the Pequot, is going to attack Sayerstowne the next morning.

– Another man, Hamilton Braemore, is sent to the colonies with guns and food. Ends up in the wrong place, meets another man, John Kelley, who has been sent to one of the same colonies, to take the place of the old regulator who died. Kelley has left his wife and two children behind in Hatcher Hill in Kent, England.

Weeks had gone by without any sign of the trailing ketch, The Rood. Hamilton pressed his rough, calloused fingertips against his forehead and bore out the sweat that gathered in his eyebrows, thumping the air and sprinkling the sapless leaves on the ground below. Nearly lost in the trance that comes from little sleep and the isolation of early morning brume, he leaned against a sapling maple and unconsciously scratched his beard. “Loan you my skiver?” Kelley’s near Welch breached the morning silence, the fog still muffled his voice.”New beard pestering you?” He was holding up the small blade he usually carried in a leather scabbard on his waist. He brandished it slightly, signifying value in his offer. Instead of glinting in the sun, the metal simply reflected the fog all around and shone flat and grey as earthenware. “I prefer my drawing knife,” said Hamilton, –
–Some Indian tribes were known to board English boats, kill the crew and use the boat against other English. They learned how to work the rigging and the canons.–
I thought that this idea was for a script, but after reading on, it looks more like a story, or collection of stories. I can’t tell if it’s actually written well, or if I was just trying to emulate Cooper’s style. Either way, I personally feel the imagery more since I have seen ‘The New World‘.

I know I have more notes on that last one. Trapped in a spiral-bound notebook somewhere at my house.

This is a new idea for posting regularly with the only thing I can regularly post about w/o feeling like I'm perpetuating an exercise in vanity. I always have ideas for films, stories, music, poems, photos, art, ect. Here is where I will put them. Also, if I think you have a good idea, I'll put it up here also. I will, of course, give credit where it's due. -j / sg

Sometimes ideas will be posted here that don't make much sense. Usually when this happens, it will be one of my personal posts. Sometimes my ideas are half-baked, even for my brain. I apologize for the inevitable confusion. -j
